VideoLAN is a software for playing audio and video formats like MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, MP3, OGG and more as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols. VideoLAN is an excellent multimedia player which has its own plugins. It does not need any codecs to be installed to be able to play various audio and video formats. It allows you to preview partially downloading files and can be used as a server to stream on a high-bandwidth IPV6 or IPV4 network in unicast or multicast.
